Amit Morey, Ph.D.
Principal Scientist


Dr. Amit Morey has significant experience in working with foodborne pathogens, antimicrobial interventions improve shelf-life and safety, food processing as well as novel diagnostic methods. He has expertise in various food categories including, poultry, seafood, produce, meats, juices, baked products and others.

Abhishek Cukkemane, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer


Dr. Abhishek Cukkemane is a highly accomplished scientist. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Microbiology in India and earned his doctorate in Biophysical Chemistry at the Univesrity of Cologne, Germany. He also worked as a Post-Doctoral fellow at the University of Cologne and Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He is an expert in the field of  analytical spectroscopy, protein purification techniques, and ligand-protein interactions.

 

Dr. Cukkemane leads the scientific team at I.D.E.A. Discovery Lab. He designs projects, protocols and trains the scientists accordingly. He provides novel and innovative approaches to resolve scientific problems. 

Aashish Mokashi, M.S. (Microbiology)
Scientist


Aashish Mokashi has significant experience in pathogen isolation and detection in clinical laboratory. He graduated with his B.S. and M.S. in Microbiology with research focused on "The use of Alkaline proteases produced by bacteria isolated from Lonar lake." Lonar lake was formed by a meteor impact and provides unique environment for bacterial growth and survival. He identified enzymes with a greater potential to remove blood stains from clinical equipment than commercially available detergents.  

 

He has experience working withreputed organizations such as the Serum Institute of India, Omni Protech & Drugs Pvt. Ltd., Flamigo Pharma Ltd. and Sahyadri Speciality Hospital & Clinical Research Centre. He has significant experience with quality assurance and control as well as research in the R&D department.

Shweta Morey, M.S. (Microbiology)
Laboratory Manager

 

Shweta Morey is a highly skilled microbiologist with B.S. and M.S. in Microbiology from Pune University.  Her Master's research was on "Screening of isolates from hydrocarbon contaminated sites for their plant growth promoting activities."

 

She is not only well versed with microbiological techniques but also an excellent manager. She has been associated with the laboratory since its inception and has been highly active in the management capacity. She has successfully established the laboratory and ensures its flawless functioning.

Zamila Khatun, M.S. (Microbiology)
Scientist


Zamila Khatun is a highly skilled and trained microbiologist. She is also well versed with immunological techniques and tissue culture. She has won pretigious awards and scholarships during her education career. She is fresh out of her M.S. and aspires to be a scientist to challenge the status-quo and make a positive change.
